Consumer Reports' best and worst fast food lists may surprise you
Wed Jul 2, 2014
McDonalds, KFC, and Sbarros. The triumvirate of crappy, tasteless fast food. Sbarros is the worst. There's a reason they're only located in malls, highway rest stops, and airports. No one would eat there otherwise.
'A father's love is without end': Texas senator writes public letter supporting lesbian daughter
Tue Jun 17, 2014
In reply to: buttons-562745 #2.1 So, gay men and women should just stay in the closet and shut up about their sexuality because you don't want to hear about it? Really, your "gaydar" is so perfect you can tell in minutes who is gay and who isn't? Let me ask you this. How many of these peo …
Restoration Hardware sends 17-pound catalog; hilarious photos ensue
Thu Jun 12, 2014
Too bad they didn't ship this USPS (the label clearly says UPS), they could use the revenue. Can you imagine how much the shipping costs were for this, even if they sent it bulk rate? They must have to sell a hell of a lot of stuff to pay for it.
Telemarketer agrees to $3.4 million FTC penalty over unwanted calls
Tue May 27, 2014
Everyone complains about the DNC list, but there's only one problem with this. Many of the calls are from scam artists and criminals trying to dupe people into divulging their personal information so they can steal their identity and raid their bank accounts. These scumbags couldn't care less if you …
'Commercialized grief'? Public reacts to September 11 Museum's gift shop
Mon May 19, 2014
Sorry, but I don't a problem with this. The sales go to support the memorial and its operations. I look at this way. I've been to many Civil War battlefields run by the NPS. These are all hallowed ground where thousands of soldiers died. Most of them have visitor's centers with gift shops.
Supermarket shrinkage? It's not your imagination, experts say
Mon May 19, 2014
It's not just grocery items. Every one is doing it. Just the other day I had lunch at Burger King, and ordered a double cheeseburger. Well, the patties were both smaller than a hockey puck. I've notice the same trend at Wendy's. I'll bet McDonald's does the same, but I don't eat there, so I can't sa …
Neighbors want architect's dream home torn down: 'It's devastating'
Thu May 1, 2014
You know what the irony is here? A hundred and fifty years ago, Victorian houses were considered ugly when they were first starting to be built. I wonder if any of these intolerant "neighbors" know that.
Skate park owner: Dad who kicked son is 'remorseful and embarrassed'
Mon Apr 28, 2014
As others have noted, it's time to ask the age old question. Is he sorry he did it, or just sorry he got caught? I'd say it's the latter.
Kill these TV characters, even if their shows suffer
Sun Apr 27, 2014
I don't watch any of the other shows, so I can only comment on Walking Dead. Root for Shane? Are you kidding? The guy was an obnoxious, psychotic jerk that was willing to kill his best friend to be with his wife. Right now, the show revolves around Rick. He's the focus of the show, and the only way …
'Transcendence' star Johnny Depp still hates being famous: It's 'living like a fugitive'
Fri Apr 4, 2014
I always find it amusing when people pursue a career that, if they're successful at it, guarantees they'll be famous, then complain about the lack of privacy that results. Can't have it both ways, dude. Being an unheard of famous actor is the ultimate oxymoron.
